An exceptional pair of gem-set earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels

An exceptional pair of gem-set earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels, made in 18 karat yellow gold, each composed of a large coral cabochon at the top, surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds and chrysoprase cabochons. Each earring suspends a striking tassel featuring a domed coral cap set with brilliant-cut diamonds, from which hang seven strings of chrysoprase beads interspersed with rose-cut diamond rondelles. The strings terminate with coral and gold beads. With clip fittings.

Total diamond weight: approximately 12 ct.

 

Signature: Signed VCA for Van Cleef & Arpels and numbered.

 

Origin & Period: Paris, circa 1971.

 

Hallmarks: French assay mark ‘eagle’s head’ and 750 for 18 karat gold. Maker’s mark of Georges Lenfant. © 71 stands for copyright 1971.
