An 18 karat gold and wood 'clematite' flower brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels, Paris, set with carved wood collet petals and gold pistil centre highlighted with 3 brilliant cut diamonds. Double prong clip fitting with safety clasp. Total diamond weight: approx 0,40 ct.   

 

Provenance: Collection de S.A.R. La Princesse Maria Pia of Savoy. Born on September 24, 1934, in Naples, she was the eldest daughter of King Umberto II of Italy and Marie-José of Belgium. A member of the House of Savoy, she became, through her marriages, first Princess of Yugoslavia and later Princess of Bourbon-Parma.
