A very fine Edwardian color changing sapphire and diamond pendant, set with a pear shaped sapphire weighing approximately 7 ct. The delicate platinum openwork mounting with millegrains finish is set with old European cut, old single cut and rose cut diamonds.  Total diamond weight: approx 1,40 ct.     Color-change sapphires are corundum’s chameleons - stones that change color under different lighting.  This particular sapphire changes from strong, violetish blue to strong violet in incandescent light. It is accompanied by the Gem Report of the "Netherlands Gemmological Laboratory”, stating that the sapphire is from Ceylon with no indications of heating.
